Why we use the Unit Award Scheme (UAS)?
The UAS helps students learn and formally recognize their achievements. Every time a student completes a learning unit, they receive a certificate, which they can collect to showcase their skills and knowledge. This scheme builds confidence, engages students, and motivates them, supporting their lifelong learning.
Why choose UAS?
Comprehensive: Covers a wide range of topics, including school subjects, life skills, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and work-related learning.
Inclusive: Open to students of all ages and abilities.
Adaptable: Teachers can create custom units for specific learning needs.
Flexible: Unlimited units can be completed each academic year, with certificates awarded anytime.
Versatile: Suitable for various applications, including SEND/SEMH programs, enrichment activities, community projects, and professional development.
How UAS works:
Teachers can choose units from a vast library that outlines the learning outcomes and required evidence. They have the freedom to teach these units in ways that best suit their students, without strict guidelines. Each center has a UAS Coordinator, trained to handle certificate claims and submission of evidence. Claims can be made throughout the year, and students can join the scheme at any time.
